Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our growing business. This role is crucial in the preparation of monthly management accounts as well as the daily accounting functions, to include processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, financial reporting etc.
The ideal candidate should have experience in a similar role, excellent accuracy and attention to detail, and strong numerical and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Process and record financial transactions accurately, including invoices, payments, and expenses.
- Verify and reconcile invoices and receipts with purchase orders and delivery notes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software for both NI and ROI businesses.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and budgets, providing accurate and timely data.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other tax-related documents.
- Accurate processing of monthly payroll, employee working hours and deductions, and assistance with monthly ROI payroll.
- Liaise with the Stores and Projects Coordinator regarding monthly stock checks and reconciliations.
- Support other departments in the accurate utilisation of accounting software, to include sales orders, purchase orders, quotes etc.
- Support year end audit preparation and liaising with auditors.
- Contribute to financial analysis and reporting activities, providing insights on financial performance and trends.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance department as needed.
- A degree or certification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of payment systems such as Stripe.
- Experience of payroll.
- Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
- Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance in ROI.
