The Recipe (About the Role)

  • Ensure the smooth, efficient, and safe functioning of cleaning operations across our factories by adhering to all Health and Safety regulations and maintaining Food Safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team, requiring flexibility to work across different areas of the factory.
  • 12‑hour shifts will be mandatory, including coverage for days, nights, and weekends.
  • Maintain factory cleanliness, including production floors, using the 5S system.
  • Clean around machinery, removing dust and spills to ensure functionality and audit readiness.
  • Assist production teams with ad‑hoc cleaning tasks and pallet handling.
  • Identify and address cleaning needs proactively without supervision.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines for cleaning, including proper chemical use and machine isolation (SILT) understanding.
  • Safely collect and dispose of waste materials in compliance with environmental standards.
  • Adhere to company cleaning procedures and report issues to the Shift Manager; complete required training and participate in team huddles.
  • Participate in risk assessment reviews as needed.

  • Understanding of basic health and safety procedures in a factory setting, particularly in a dusty or manufacturing environment.
  • Able to identify tasks independently and take initiative to ensure the factory remains clean and safe.
  • Must be able to work long shifts (12 hours) and handle physical tasks, such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic Food Hygiene – CIEH Certificated.
  • HACCP Awareness.
  • COSHH Awareness.
  • Manual Handling.
  • Health and Safety Awareness.
