The Recipe (About the Role)

  • Design, develop, validate and optimise manufacturing and packaging processes to improve safety, quality, cost, capacity and reliability across operations.
  • Manage multiple process capability improvement projects, audit plants capability, conduct trials, help with business units with technical advice and guidance, and training of both shift-based teams and guide teams in new tools, techniques, and procedures.
  • Manage and deliver step change process improvement projects of a performance, capability, capacity, quality, and cost reduction technical nature across operations.
  • Provide robust, accurate and well concluded technical reports on project outcomes and communicate effectively to stakeholders.
  • Ensure changes and ways of working, centrelines, standard settings are well documented and incorporated into ways of working.
  • Engage with key internal stakeholders to change behaviour to positively drive process improvement.
  • Where needed facilitate, train and coach, ensuring strong engagement with the teams related to the projects or activities.
  • Provide effective reactive guidance for escalated plants issues and coach GSTD (Go, See, Think, Do) techniques during these interventions.
  • Conduct trials on new methods & systems, equipment & processes.
  • Subject Matter expert (SME) for key processing technologies.
  • Guide business units to comply with current and new Weetabix standards in process & equipment operations, including auditing and facilitation of higher-level audits.
  • Manage external resources and contractors when deployed.
  • Coordinate with capital projects and reliability engineering on key business improvement initiatives to ensure the robust and sustainable solutions and processes are adopted.
  • Complete Professional Development to maintain awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Undertake any other duties, consistent with the level of the role, skills and experience, as may be reasonably required to guide the business.

The Ingredients (What we need from you)

  • Key Know How:
  • Knowledge: HND level or equivalent qualifications in engineering, quality, or a similar technical bias.
  • Green or Black Belt in Six Sigma - Knowledge of statistics and SPC (Statistical Process Control), practical skills.
  • Advanced user of Excel.
  • Excellent problem solver with a good insight of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) or similar methodology.
  • Project management qualification (Desirable).
  • H&S and food safety qualification (Desirable).
  • Experience:
  • Engineering or quality background.
  • Experience within FMCG environment and proven food process engineering knowledge.
  • Managing complex projects.
  • Good insight of LEAN and Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Dedication to team working, workplace safety and overall product quality.
  • Ability to deliver results on time in full.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritise and work well under pressure.
  • Organised and detail oriented.
