We are looking for a Multi Skilled Shift Engineer to join our Weetabix team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring equipment reliability, taking charge of reactive repairs, preventive maintenance activities, and fostering continuous improvement in our around-the-clock operations. As part of a highly trained team, you'll have the opportunity to help multiple facilities and make a real impact!
The Recipe (About the Role)
- Provide engineering guidance to production, resolving breakdowns and assisting with the resolution of priority engineering issues.
- Deliver planned maintenance to sustain the reliability of our assets.
- Work with minimal guidance, with the ability to resolve problems.
- Work to company practices, procedures and rules to ensure health & safety, food safety and legal compliance are upheld.
- Assist external contractors providing additional help for reactive activities, to ensure company practices, procedures and rules are understood and adhered to.
- Have familiarity with working on a wide variety of engineering assets.
- Effectively diagnose and repair plant equipment to component level (excluding high voltage and gas).
- Escalate all equipment issues which cannot be effectively resolved to the appropriate functions.
- Identify opportunities to improve the reliability of assets and engineering working processes.
- Assist with Improvement projects, identifying engineering root causes and complete CI project work actions.
- Complete effective handover to the oncoming team.
- Provide training and guidance to engineers, operators and apprentices.
The Ingredients (What we need from you)
- Demonstrable mechanical and electrical knowledge through training and experience.
- Engineering Qualification or apprenticeship (HNC or above preferred).
- Good solution-finding experience.
- Good IT experience to include the use of Computer Maintenance Management Systems.
- Desirable Skills: Engineering experience in a food manufacturing environment. PLC experience preferred.
