About the Company

We are building next-generation AI cloud infrastructure, covering everything from data centres and hardware through to the cloud platform used by some of the world's leading AI teams..

This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing company at an exciting stage of its journey, working on cutting-edge AI infrastructure alongside experienced engineers and technicians..

The Role

We are looking for a Junior Data Centre Technician to join our on-site operations team..

Our data centres run high-density GPU infrastructure around the clock, so the physical environment must operate reliably at all times.

You will work alongside experienced technicians, developing practical skills across server hardware, networking equipment, structured cabling and general site operations..

This is a broad, hands-on role rather than a narrowly specialised position.

You'll gain exposure across multiple aspects of data centre operations with a clear opportunity to develop your technical skills and progress your career..

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain servers, storage systems, networking equipment and structured cabling under the guidance of experienced technicians..
  • Rack and stack servers, switches and supporting equipment..
  • Replace failed hardware components, including drives, fans, power supply units, motherboards and CPUs..
  • Install, route, label and organise copper and fibre cabling..
  • Test copper and fibre connections and assist with identifying faulty cables, components and links..
  • Carry out routine physical site inspections and support the safe, reliable operation of the data centre..
  • Receive, inspect and inventory new hardware and equipment..
  • Follow operational procedures, document completed work and elevate issues where appropriate..
  • Support the wider shift team with general data centre operations activities..

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with genuine hands-on technical aptitude and a desire to build a career in data centre operations.

Previous experience is helpful, but enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to learn are just as important..

You'll ideally have:.

  • Some practical technical or operational experience within a data centre, IT support environment, engineering role or another hands-on technical field..
  • An interest in computer hardware and confidence carrying out practical component-level work..
  • Some understanding of server hardware, rack and stack activities or networking equipment..
  • A basic understanding of network connectivity, including copper and fibre cabling..
  • A logical and methodical approach to troubleshooting..
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow documented procedures..
  • Good judgement, recognising when to escape issues rather than improvising..
  • The ability and willingness to work an on-site shift rotation covering 24/7 operations..
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills..

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous but is not essential:.

  • Previous exposure to a data centre environment..
  • Experience working with GPU servers or high-performance computing hardware..
  • Exposure to liquid-cooled infrastructure..
  • Experience with fibre-optic installation or testing..
  • An interest in developing networking and fibre troubleshooting skills..
  • What's on Offer
  • Competitive salary and equity..
  • Healthcare, wellbeing and additional employee benefits..
  • The opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI infrastructure..
  • Ongoing training and career development..
  • A collaborative, international engineering environment..
  • Clear opportunities for progression as the company continues to grow.
