The Role
As a pivotal member of the school’s Leadership Team, you will work alongside the Headteacher to strategically develop SEN(D) policy and provision. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of SEN(D) support, including the SEN(D) register and provision maps.
- Providing professional guidance to colleagues on the "graduated approach" and differentiated teaching.
- Coordinating EHCP processes and acting as the primary point of contact for external agencies.
- Line managing and inspiring our team of Learning Support Assistants to ensure high-quality performance.
- Securing excellent outcomes to ensure pupils with SEN(D) remain successful learners.
About You
We are looking for an experienced or aspiring Assistant Headteacher who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with at least five years of experience.
- Possesses the NASENCO qualification or has the desire and commitment to undertake it.
- Is an excellent classroom teacher with a proven ability to meet a range of individual needs.
- Has strong professional knowledge of the SEN(D) Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
- Demonstrates sensitivity, integrity, and enthusiasm when working with families and "hard to reach" parents.
- Is a strategic thinker with the personal presence to initiate and manage change.
