We’re a volunteer indie game studio looking for a marketer who can own our social media presence and create engaging content that grows our community and drives wishlists, follows, and sales. You’ll be the bridge between the dev team and our players. This is entry-level but we expect high willingness to learn, improve and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the studio’s social media channels (e.g., X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Discord, Steam news).
  • Plan and maintain a content calendar aligned with key milestones (devlogs, demos, festivals, wishlists, launch, updates).
  • Capture screenshots and short gameplay clips.
  • Edit simple videos/reels/shorts.
  • Write posts, threads, and devlog-style updates.
  • Collaborate with the dev team leaders to understand new features, updates, and the roadmap so you can translate them into clear, exciting messaging.
  • Track basic performance metrics (follower growth, engagement, link clicks, wishlists, where possible) and suggest small experiments to improve results.
  • Assist with creator/influencer outreach (identifying relevant streamers/YouTubers, helping with keys and basic outreach templates).

Requirements

  • Familiarity with social platforms used by gamers and devs (at least a few of: X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Discord, Steam).
  • Basic content creation skills: Comfortable capturing game footage, Basic image/video editing (e.g., Canva, Photoshop, Premiere, CapCut, or similar).
  • Genuine interest in indie games and how they’re marketed.
  • Clear, engaging writing style with an understanding of internet culture and indie game communities is a plus.
