Role
We're partnering with a global technology organisation embarking on a major platform transformation that will redefine how its products are built and delivered. With a strong architectural vision already in place, the business is now looking for a Senior Software Architect to take ownership of the technical execution and help turn that vision into reality.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to join a greenfield programme in its early stages, building a next-generation platform that is API-first, AI-led and cloud-native. You'll have the autonomy to influence technical direction, mentor fellow architects, and work alongside software, hardware and platform specialists to deliver a modern, scalable solution.
For someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges while leading from the front, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on a product roadmap that will shape the business for years to come.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of the software architecture across a major greenfield platform programme.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to two Software Architects.
- Drive engineering best practices and architectural standards across development teams.
- Work closely with Solution, Platform and Hardware Architects to deliver an integrated platform, including IoT connectivity.
- Design scalable, cloud-native applications using modern architectural patterns.
- Champion API-first, AI-first and AI-assisted development approaches.
- Guide technical decisions around distributed systems, scalability and performance.
- Support delivery of key milestones towards the programme's Proof of Concept and phased product releases.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful execution of the product roadmap.
Required Skills
- Strong Software Architecture experience within enterprise applications.
- Expert knowledge of C# and .NET.
- Experience designing Microservices-based architectures.
- Containerisation technologies.
- API-first architecture.
- Cloud-native application design.
- Event-driven architecture.
- CQRS and Event Sourcing.
- Experience delivering scalable distributed systems.
- Ability to mentor technical teams and lead architectural implementation.
- Experience with AI-led or AI-assisted software development is highly desirable.
- Exposure to mobile applications or software/hardware integration (IoT) would be advantageous.
Why should I apply?
This is more than just another architecture role, it's an opportunity to influence the technical direction of a flagship product transformation from the ground up. You'll be joining a programme that's still in its early stages, giving you the chance to leave your mark on architecture, engineering standards and delivery practices. You'll have genuine autonomy, the trust to make key technical decisions, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced architects across software, hardware and platform engineering.
As the business continues to invest in its technology function, there is a clear pathway for future progression, including the opportunity to develop into Head of Architecture. If you're looking for a role where you can combine hands-on architectural leadership with modern AI-first engineering principles and work on technology that will have long-term impact, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
