Senior Full Stack Engineer – Agentic AI

Role

We’re working with an established Insur Tech business that is entering an exciting stage in how it builds software.

The team is moving beyond simply using AI coding assistants and towards a genuinely agentic software development lifecycle – where engineers increasingly define intent, orchestrate AI, review its output and apply the engineering judgement needed to deliver high-quality production software.

You’ll join an established engineering team working on a mature workflow automation platform used by 100+ clients.

The product already has AI capabilities in production, with a wider roadmap focused on expanding how AI is incorporated into both the product itself and the way the engineering team develops software.

This isn’t an AI research position or a traditional Full Stack role with “AI” added to the title.

They’re looking for an experienced software engineer who has already started changing the way they build software using AI and wants to help shape what modern engineering looks like as these capabilities mature.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver end-to-end product features across a C#/. NET backend and modern frontend environment.
  • Work closely with Product to define, refine and deliver the product roadmap.
  • Use AI coding and agentic tools as part of day‑to‑day software engineering and delivery.
  • Help evolve how AI is incorporated across specifications, development, PRs, code reviews, testing and QA.
  • Critically review AI-generated code for quality, correctness, security, maintainability and architectural fit.
  • Help turn successful individual AI practices into repeatable approaches that benefit the wider engineering team.
  • Write and maintain unit tests, test frameworks and automated test cases.
  • Identify defects, performance bottlenecks and technical debt.
  • Contribute to the continued development of AI functionality within the product.
  • Work in an environment where the focus is increasingly moving from simply writing code towards specification, design, orchestration and engineering judgement.

Required Skills

  • Strong commercial software engineering experience with C# and . NET.
  • Full‑stack development experience, ideally including Angular or another modern frontend technology.
  • Experience developing modern cloud/Saa S applications.
  • Strong understanding of software design, testing, architecture and engineering quality.
  • Commercial experience using AI coding assistants and/or agentic development tools as part of real software delivery.
  • Able to demonstrate experience beyond basic Copilot usage, including how AI has been incorporated into your development workflow.
  • Confidence reviewing AI‑generated solutions and knowing when to trust, challenge, correct or override the output.
  • Comfortable writing clear specifications/prompts that both engineers and AI agents can work from.
  • Strong engineering judgement and the confidence to challenge how something has been designed or implemented.
  • Comfortable operating in an environment where AI engineering practices are evolving quickly.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to share knowledge and raise engineering practices across a team.

Why should I apply?

There are plenty of engineering roles talking about AI.

This opportunity gives you the chance to work in a team that is actively changing how software gets engineered because of it.

You’ll be joining at an inflection point.

AI is already being used across development and QA, but the next challenge is moving from individual productivity gains towards a structured Agentic SDLC that can operate effectively at scale.

There’s also a dual opportunity: you won’t just use AI to build the product; you’ll contribute to a product that is itself becoming increasingly AI‑enabled, with an evolving roadmap around intelligent workflow automation.

You’ll have the opportunity to bring practices you’ve already developed into an established engineering environment, influence how the wider team works and continue developing your own skills as the boundaries between specification, architecture, development, testing and AI orchestration continue to evolve.

If you’re a strong software engineer who believes the future of development is less about who can type the most code and more about who has the judgement to design, orchestrate and validate great software, this could be a particularly interesting next move.

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
