The Role

Whilst reporting to the Head of Estates, this is very much a self-managed role where you will assess the needs and requirements of selected schools across the trust, with sites in Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Sussex and London. You will visit sites based on their needs - which you will assess through maintenance surveys, and communications with individual schools for minor capital projects. Alongside short, medium and long term maintenance management, you will conduct cost analysis, procurement, tendering and project delivery for the minor capital projects - ensuring projects are delivered on time, and within budget.

  • Project cost analysis
  • Contract management
  • Spec drawings

Requirements

You will need excellent experience in maintenance surveying, to produce accurate cost estimates for short, medium, and long term maintenance plans and projects. Knowledge of health & safety and building regulations & legislations are required for the successful completion of tasks. You will also need knowledge of procurement and construction techniques. Strong working knowledge of JCQ contracts is also essential. This role is regional, and will require a driving license and your own vehicle to commute to the 14 sites within the cluster - mileage is compensated at 45p per mile.

  • Condition assessment experience
  • Building & construction legislation knowledge
  • Cost planning & surveying experience
  • Health & safety regulation knowledge
  • Experience working in schools is highly desirable!

In return

This is an excellent chance to join a large trust, in a role which gives you freedom to manage your own time to get the job done! This is primarily an on-site role, with 3-4 days on site per week - depending on requirements of each school. In return you will receive a salary of £46k - £52k.
