Senior React Contractor – Web3 / Blockchain | £500–£600/day | Remote (UK hours) | Outside IR35

Wedo is partnering with a blockchain business building the next generation of digital asset protection. They\'re hiring a Senior React Contractor to lead the front-end build of their new B2B user portal a product that helps institutions manage wallet recovery, transaction protection, and security features.

Phase one is a public-facing portal. Phase two is full integration with backend infrastructure.

What You Should Know Before Applying

This role is not for everyone. They need someone who can deliver under pressure, not be ramped up over time.

  • Autonomous mindset: You’ll be joining a stretched team. There’s no bandwidth to support or upskill and you’re here to get things moving fast.
  • Live coding required: The interview includes a 30–45 minute live technical session. If that’s a blocker, this isn’t the role for you.
  • Startup-ready: If you’ve thrived in fast-moving, product-led environments, you’ll feel right at home.

The Work

  • Build and ship the new user portal using React and TypeScript
  • Integrate front-end components with backend APIs
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and QA to deliver scalable code
  • Define and influence front-end architecture and technical standards

Tech Stack

  • React (modern): Hooks, composition patterns
  • TypeScript: Strongly typed, scalable codebases
  • Tailwind CSS: Utility-first styling framework
  • shadcn/ui: Headless UI components
  • State management: Zustand or Redux Toolkit
  • Testing: Unit and integration best practices
  • AWS Cognito (nice to have): Experience with authentication/identity systems

Who You Are

  • A senior React engineer with a proven track record delivering production-grade apps
  • Fluent in TypeScript and front-end architecture
  • Pragmatic, design-aware, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working from Figma, collaborating with designers, and owning features end-to-end
  • Strong communicator used to async workflows and fast iteration
  • Bonus if you’ve worked in crypto, fintech, or security-sensitive environments

The Details

  • Start Date: ASAO
  • Contract Length: 3 months initially, with likely extension
  • Location: Remote, but must be able to work in UK hours (BST)
  • Rate: £500–£600/day
  • Interview Process: Includes a 30–45 minute live coding session with two senior engineers, followed by a short debrief
