Senior Analytics Engineer

Senior Analytics Engineer

Full-Time On-site
W

Salary: Up to Β£75,000 + Discretionary Bonus + Benefits

Location: Fully Remote (UK)

Work Type: Permanent, Full Time

Role

We're working with a growing UK fintech that's spent the last two years completely transforming its data infrastructure, investing heavily in modern technology, AI and building a platform that's ready for the future.

With a major programme of migrations now largely complete, the business has established a modern, AI-enabled data platform using Snowflake, dbt, Coalesce, Sigma and Airflow.

Now comes the exciting part.

They're looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to help shape what comes next. With several new initiatives underway, there's a real opportunity to influence how data is modelled, optimised and used across the business.

This isn't a position where you'll be limited to maintaining existing pipelines or working through a backlog of tickets. You'll have the autonomy to challenge how things are done, introduce new ideas and work directly with stakeholders to deliver solutions that make a genuine difference.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and optimise scalable data models within a modern cloud data platform.
  • Develop new data solutions supporting upcoming products and business initiatives.
  • Review and improve existing data models, focusing on performance, efficiency, cost and maintainability.
  • Work directly with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Finance and Analytics to understand their challenges and design appropriate solutions.
  • Contribute to data quality, governance and testing standards within a regulated environment.
  • Explore opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve engineering practices and delivery.
  • Work across the wider data ecosystem, gaining exposure to Data Engineering, orchestration and BI.
  • Collaborate with and support less experienced engineers, sharing knowledge and contributing to technical decisions.

Required Skills

  • Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, CTEs, window functions and performance optimisation.
  • Solid experience designing and developing data models.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt or Coalesce.io.
  • Experience with a modern cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake, although BigQuery and other relevant platforms will be considered.
  • Understanding of data transformation, testing, version control and data quality practices.
  • Confidence working directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, technology-led environment.
  • Genuine interest in AI, emerging technologies and how they can improve engineering practices.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Sigma, Airflow or similar BI and orchestration tools.
  • Background in fintech, financial services, RegTech or another regulated industry.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers.

You don't necessarily need to have held the title of Senior Analytics Engineer. If you're an experienced Analytics Engineer who's ready for more ownership, responsibility and technical exposure, we'd be equally interested in speaking with you.

Why Should I Apply?

An opportunity to shape what comes next. The foundations have been built, but there's still plenty of scope to improve, optimise and influence the direction of the platform.

Work with genuinely modern technology. AI isn't just something the business talks about. It's already embedded into how the team works, with a strong focus on using it responsibly to improve productivity and deliver better solutions.

Broaden your technical experience. Rather than being restricted to one area, you'll have exposure to Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, BI and stakeholder-led problem-solving.

Real autonomy and ownership. You'll be encouraged to challenge existing approaches, contribute ideas and take responsibility for delivering solutions from initial requirements through to implementation.

A team that invests in your development. You'll be joining a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing, continuous learning and career progression are genuinely encouraged.

The benefits include

  • Up to Β£75,000 base salary
  • Fully remote working across the UK
  • Private medical insurance with Vitality
  • Pension scheme with 3% employer contribution and Salary Exchange
  • Life insurance
  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
  • An additional day's holiday for each year of service, up to 30 days
  • Your birthday off
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support

Interested?

If you're an Analytics Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working with modern technology and wants to have a genuine influence on how a growing business uses data, I'd be keen to speak with you.
