Engineering Enablement | Developer Experience | AI Platform Architecture

Wedo has partnered with one of the world's leading financial services organisations. Their technology division consists of more than 500 software engineers building enterprise software used by millions of people globally.

They've invested heavily in AI, embedding AI throughout the SDLC to help engineers deliver better software, faster. The foundations are already in place. The AI harness exists, agentic engineering workflows are underway, and they're now looking for a Principal AI Platform Architect / Engineer to own the platform, evolve its capabilities and drive adoption across the engineering organisation.

You’ll define the technical vision, shape the platform architecture and remain hands‑on building the capabilities that make AI easy, safe and scalable to adopt.

Working alongside Engineering Enablement, Architecture and Product Engineering, you’ll build reusable platforms that improve how engineers build software every day.

  • Code generation and test automation
  • Developer tooling, SDKs and APIs
  • Prompt engineering and model evaluation
  • Platform observability and governance
  • RAG and agentic engineering workflows
  • AI-enabled SDLC practices

What They’re Looking For

You're likely to be operating today as a:

  • Principal Engineer
  • Platform Architect
  • Developer Experience (DevEx) Engineer
  • Engineering Enablement Lead

More importantly, you’ll have experience building production AI platforms that other engineers rely on.

You’ll ideally bring experience across several of the following:

  • LLM integration
  • SDKs and Internal Developer Platforms
  • API design and Platform Engineering
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • CI/CD and modern engineering practices
  • Platform observability, governance and security

You’ll enjoy working directly with engineering teams, removing friction and influencing through technical credibility rather than authority.

How to prepare for a job interview at WeDo

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If WeDo uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
