Wedo is partnering with a venture-backed AI company building next-generation agentic systems designed to automate complex workflows across global manufacturing, procurement and supply chains. This team is building AI capable of executing entire business processes autonomously. Their customers generate terabytes of complex data across ERP systems, supply chains, suppliers and manufacturing operations. The challenge is turning that fragmented information into intelligent systems capable of making better decisions at scale.

The business is still early in its journey, but product-market fit is established, they have enterprise customers and now need to scale aggressively. They have just landed Series A, have plans to hire 65 and this role will specifically work with their Founding Engineer who’s ex Meta and their CTO who’s ex OpenAI.

They're looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, building robust systems and working closely with customers to bring ambitious ideas into production quickly.

Current stack: The team is small, the calibre is high and you’ll get to work with folk who have worked for Nasa, McKinsey, OpenAI, Meta, Revolut, Zilch.

They’re particularly interested in engineers who:

  • Have strong commercial experience building production systems in Python
  • Have worked with large-scale data processing, integrations or distributed systems
  • Can take an ambiguous problem and turn it into a production-ready solution
  • Enjoy customer interaction and aren’t afraid to jump on a call to solve problems
  • Want exposure to AI-native product development without necessarily needing prior AI experience
  • Prefer ownership and accountability over rigid process

The environment is ambitious, high ownership and highly collaborative. You'll have direct exposure to customers, founders and technical decision making. Engineers here aren’t handed tickets. They’re expected to understand the problem, shape the solution and own the outcome.

The team works hybrid with typically 3–4 days each week spent either in the London office or working alongside customers. This isn’t a clock-in, clock-out environment. It will suit someone who enjoys early-stage company building, moving quickly and having meaningful influence over product and technical direction.

In return, you’ll get the opportunity to work on genuinely challenging engineering problems whilst helping shape how AI is deployed within large enterprise environments.

Ideal candidates:

  • Someone looking to accelerate their growth by joining a high-calibre company at an inflection point
  • Or someone who’s already operated in early-stage businesses and enjoys the pace, ambiguity and ownership that comes with building products from the ground up

How to prepare for a job interview at WeDo

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If WeDo uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
