WeDo Tech has partnered with a growing organisation to recruit a Senior Power BI Developer who will play a key role in shaping how data is used across the business. This role sits at the centre of the organisation’s analytics capability, helping transform a largely Excel-based reporting environment into scalable, governed Power BI solutions. You’ll work across a wide range of data, from operational performance to organisational metrics ensuring data becomes trusted insight that supports better decision-making. The organisation is also beginning its journey toward Microsoft Fabric, giving you the opportunity to influence how the next generation of the data platform evolves. You’ll take ownership of designing and delivering robust Power BI solutions, modernising the current reporting landscape and building the foundations for a self-service BI environment that teams can rely on.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing Power BI reports, data models and DAX measures
  • Modernising existing Excel-based reporting into scalable BI solutions
  • Implementing best practice dimensional modelling (star schema)
  • Creating and managing trusted datasets and reusable metrics
  • Supporting the organisation’s transition toward Microsoft Fabric
  • Working with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into clear and intuitive analytics
  • Ensuring data quality, governance and documentation across reporting solutions
  • Enabling self-service analytics through well-structured Power BI datasets
  • Supporting exploratory analytics and proof-of-concept projects
  • Mentoring colleagues on Power BI, modelling and analytics design

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Power BI including modelling, DAX and performance optimisation
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query and analytical modelling
  • Experience redesigning and improving existing reporting environments
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling
  • Good SQL capability for querying and validating data
  • Experience working with stakeholders to translate requirements into analytics solutions
  • A track record of delivering BI outputs that support operational and strategic decisions

Desirable:

  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric concepts (Lakehouse, OneLake, Dataflows, Pipelines)
  • Experience with source control or deployment practices (e.g. Git)
  • Experience integrating data from multiple business systems
  • Microsoft Power BI or Fabric certifications
