Wedlake Bell is recruiting for an IT Trainer to join our IT team. This is a full-time (part-time considered), permanent role. Our IT team plays a crucial role in shaping the firm's technology-driven approach to efficient operations and excellent client service. Working closely with colleagues across all practice areas and business services teams, the function is central to driving efficiency, innovation and continuous improvement across the firm.

As IT Trainer, you will play a key role in enabling our people to get the most out of our systems and technology. You will be responsible for delivering a broad range of IT training, from new joiner inductions to ongoing development sessions, both in groups and on a one-to-one basis. You will also work closely with stakeholders across the firm to identify training needs, support the rollout of new technologies, and contribute to improving how we adopt and use IT.

We are seeking an experienced IT Trainer, ideally with a background in a law firm or professional services environment. You will have strong experience delivering training across a range of systems, alongside excellent communication and organisational skills. Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering IT training in-office, remotely and at desk side, either in larger in-person groups, practice team meetings or individually.
  • Providing regular IT induction training sessions for new staff, ensuring an excellent standard of IT training is delivered, and providing follow up support to new joiners as needed.
  • Designing and delivering new joiner training and induction programmes, working closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth, timely, and well coordinated onboarding experience.
  • Establishing strong relationships with our legal and business support teams to promote continuous improvement in IT training.
  • Improving knowledge and understanding of business challenges by running workshops, spending time with teams, and using surveys and gap analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Contributing to the improvement of the IT function and the wider firm's use of technology, through maintaining a regular view of industry best practices and innovative technologies.
  • Playing an active role in technology adoption and IT training projects, collaborating with stakeholders to design and deliver effective new training courses.
  • Producing IT training materials, guides, manuals, tips, and internal promotional materials (such as posters, screensavers, etc) as required.
  • Producing and maintaining the team's IT Training Schedule.
  • Assisting the Helpdesk and other colleagues with any training queries.
  • Other ad-hoc responsibilities as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience working in a recognised construction law practice.
  • Strong IT training experience within a law firm or professional services firm.
  • Experience of training on the following applications is strongly preferred: Office 365 Suite, Copilot and other AI tools, Windows 11, iManage, Bighand, Time recording – Elite 3E, Intapp, or similar, iPhone device and applications (iManage, Bighand, Office 365 apps, etc), CRM tools – Interaction preferred, Document management tools – BundleDocs, Adobe, etc.
  • Proven experience operating as part of project teams, influencing and supporting the uptake of new and innovative technologies across the business.
  • Professional and commercial approach to IT, with the ability to think creatively and offer proactive solutions and ideas.
  • Flexible approach to in-office days and office hours during periods of particularly high training needs (i.e. providing IT training during our September trainee intake, vacation schemes, etc).
  • Excellent communication skills – must be able to interact and communicate effectively across all levels of seniority and on both an internal and external basis.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure and in keeping with deadlines.
