At WeDiscover, we’re a performance marketing and technology agency built around one core belief: the most successful campaigns aren’t driven by execution alone, but by continuous digital evolution. We specialise in helping ambitious brands reach their optimum point of operation - combining performance marketing, advanced data, and custom-built technology to create future-facing strategies that scale. Our teams of performance marketers, data scientists, and engineers work closely together to build sophisticated, full-stack digital ecosystems that go beyond in-platform optimisation.
As we continue to expand, we’re looking for an experienced Account Director to help lead our Tier 1 Paid Search clients, develop our people, and shape how we deliver strategic value at scale.
The Role
As an Account Director, you’ll sit at the heart of our Paid Search offering - owning client strategy, leading senior relationships, and guiding Account Managers to do their best work. You’ll be accountable for the performance and delivery of complex accounts, while working closely with Data, Product, and leadership teams to identify opportunities for smarter processes, new product initiatives, and continuous improvement. This is a role for someone who enjoys balancing strategic ownership, people leadership, and hands-on contribution - and who wants to help shape how a modern performance and technology agency operates.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Client Leadership & Strategy
- Owning overall account performance and delivery across Tier 1 clients
- Leading strategic client meetings, setting direction and ensuring teams are well prepared
- Building and strengthening senior stakeholder relationships, proactively soliciting feedback and ensuring actions are followed through
- Developing annual and quarterly client roadmaps that align long-term strategy with commercial objectives
- Ensuring clear delegation of work and transparency of expectations across account teams
- Running regular retrospectives to evaluate delivery and adapt ways of working
- Leading ideation of new product initiatives and collaborating with Data & Product teams to scope and test pilots
- Maintaining a solid understanding of client commercials, ensuring delivery remains within scope and managing out-of-scope requests appropriately
- Creating clear, well-structured briefs and requests for Data and Product teams
- Internal Contribution
- Your time will be split between line management and deeper involvement in projects as an individual contributor, depending on client and business needs. You’ll play an active role in shaping how work is delivered, not just overseeing it.
- People & Pastoral Care
- Line management and pastoral care for 2+ Account Managers
- Owning structured, transparent onboarding for new Paid Search team members
- Supporting new joiners through probation, ensuring processes and standards are understood and followed
- Individual Contribution & Agency Impact
- Owning and growing projects that contribute meaningfully to client or company success
- Supporting WeDiscover’s wider marketing efforts, for example through case studies, events, or thought leadership
What We’re Looking For
- Core Skills & Experience
- Advanced Paid Search expertise across multiple verticals, with the ability to adapt strategy to complex business goals
- Strong understanding of data capability and product-led approaches to performance marketing
- High standards across analysis, communication, presentation, and account management
- A proactive mindset for improving processes, raising quality, and streamlining delivery
- Leadership & Pastoral Strengths
- Confident, constructive communicator who can have honest conversations about performance
- Ability to manage team dynamics pragmatically while maintaining trust and accountability
- A genuine interest in developing people - recognising strengths, addressing gaps, and creating growth opportunities
- Experience supporting others in stepping into management roles
- Specialist & Project Focus
- Comfortable adapting and iterating when projects don’t go to plan
- Strong project management skills - able to meet deadlines and drive momentum
- Recognised expertise within a specific Paid Search or performance-related area
Progression & Impact
Success in this role is measured not just by client performance, but by your wider impact on the agency. This includes:
- Demonstrating calm, solutions-focused leadership under pressure
- Building strong cross-department relationships, particularly with Data and other Paid Media teams
- Leading the rollout of new internal processes and ensuring teams adopt them successfully
- Contributing beyond your accounts - through internal projects, team development, or strengthening WeDiscover’s external presence
In return for your work, time and skills, we offer a competitive salary and some additional benefits:
- Equity in the Business: Gain ownership in WeDiscover through our EMI Options Scheme, allowing you to share in the success you help create.
- Significant Career Advancement: Be part of a fast-growing agency where your contributions will have a direct impact on our growth and culture. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the direction of the business, joining at a pivotal stage in our journey.
- Work Flexibility: 2-3 days in our London office as best suits you
- Top of the Range Tools: We provide top-quality equipment, including a high-spec laptop, screens, and access to our bespoke technology, ensuring you have everything you need to succeed.
- Generous Time Off: Enjoy 28 days of annual leave (plus the usual bank holidays) and the option to take a 5-week paid sabbatical after 5 years of service to refresh and recharge.
- Wellness & Wellbeing: Get a £40 monthly wellness subscription to your choice of services like Calm, Headspace, Huel, Thriva, or a gym membership to support your well-being.
- Volunteering & Giving Back: Take two volunteering days per year to give back to a cause you care about.
- Continuous Learning: Access a £200 annual learning fund for books, courses, or subscriptions. Our culture of continuous training supports both technical skills and broader business acumen development.
- Inclusive Culture: We’re committed to building an inclusive, positive environment where success is shared, and everyone feels supported in achieving their best.
