About WeBuyVintage: WeBuyVintage is one of the UK’s largest buyers of jewellery, antiques and collectibles. We run more roadshows than any other UK company - over 250 valuation events every month - bringing trusted experts face-to-face with customers across the country. In three years, we’ve grown from a pub-table idea into an eight-figure business, with a headcount that’s grown from 30-100 in the last 2 years and we’re on a mission to make WeBuyVintage a brand everyone recognises.

The Role: We are looking for an experienced People & Culture Manager to join our growing People team. Reporting to the Head of People, you’ll join us at an exciting stage of growth and play a key role in building and developing our People function, combining day-to-day HR operations with ownership of core People processes, systems, culture initiatives and projects.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the employee lifecycle, ensuring People processes run smoothly and effectively.
  • Act as a key point of contact for day-to-day People queries, including HRIS, onboarding, policies and People processes.
  • Own the day-to-day management and development of our HRIS (BrightHR), ensuring accurate employee data, effective processes and strong system adoption.
  • Produce and maintain People reporting, dashboards and key HR metrics.
  • Own and maintain HR documentation, templates, policies and employee records.
  • Partner with the Head of People on an ambitious programme of People & Culture projects over the next 12 months and beyond, including employee engagement surveys, performance review cycles, evolving our company values, and reviewing our benefits offering.
  • Help bring our culture and values to life through People initiatives that strengthen engagement, recognition and connection across the business.
  • Play an active role in the Social Committee, supporting the planning and delivery of company-wide events, including our Summer and Christmas parties, as well as local initiatives and events across our Cambridge, Leeds and Darlington offices.
  • Support internal People communications and initiatives that help employees across our different locations feel informed, connected and engaged.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, simplify and strengthen People processes and the overall employee experience.

Who We’re Looking For: We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is comfortable building, improving and adapting People practices as we grow.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience working in, and a genuine preference for, fast-paced, high-growth environments, ideally within a start-up or scale-up.
  • Experienced HR/People generalist, ideally at People & Culture Manager, HR Manager or equivalent level.
  • Comfortable building and improving People processes rather than solely operating within established ones.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Strong HRIS experience, with confidence owning and improving HR systems and processes.
  • Comfortable working with People data, reporting and HR metrics.
  • Experience and passion for supporting or delivering People, culture, engagement and employee experience initiatives.
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys contributing to company culture and creating a positive employee experience.
  • Highly organised, adaptable and comfortable managing competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently, taking ownership and getting stuck in.
  • A CIPD qualification is not essential for this role. We’re equally interested in candidates who have developed strong HR expertise through practical experience and/or other relevant professional qualifications or training, such as employment law.

What You’ll Get:

  • Access to Bright Exchange - enjoy thousands of exclusive employee discounts and perks
  • Employee Assistance Programme - confidential, 24/7 support for you and your immediate family, covering work, personal, and home life matters
