Rural Surveyor - Estate Management & Land Agency

Location: West Sussex

Contract Type: Permanent

Our client is an established independent chartered surveying practice with a strong rural property offering across Sussex, Surrey and Kent. They are seeking an enthusiastic Rural Surveyor to join their experienced team, offering varied work across farms, estates and agricultural land with genuine scope for professional development and career progression.

Position Overview

You will work alongside experienced rural professionals, handling a diverse portfolio of rural property matters including agency, valuations, estate management and landlord and tenant advice. This role offers the variety and responsibility of working within a smaller team while benefiting from the practice's excellent reputation and long-standing client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional rural surveying advice to clients
  • Undertake property inspections and prepare reports
  • Assist with agricultural and rural property valuations
  • Support rural agency instructions for farms and estates
  • Advise on estate and property management matters
  • Assist with agricultural landlord and tenant agreements
  • Support land management and rural property issues
  • Prepare and negotiate leases, licences and documentation
  • Advise clients on rural property asset opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Contribute to growth of rural consultancy services

Requirements

  • Degree in Rural Land Management, Rural Estate Management, Surveying or related discipline
  • MRICS qualification or working towards chartered status
  • Previous experience in rural surveying, land agency or estate management
  • Understanding of rural property and agricultural markets
  • Strong technical knowledge and professional judgement
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
  • Confidence dealing directly with landowners and farmers
  • Proactive and commercially aware approach
  • Strong organisational skills managing multiple instructions
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally
