Our client, a forward-thinking land management organisation, is seeking an experienced Estate Manager to oversee the sustainable transition of their diverse 5,395-acre estate in Somerset. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to drive positive change and make a lasting impact on the local community and environment.

Position Overview

The Estate Manager will play a pivotal role in implementing sustainable farming practices, optimising land use, and engaging with the local community to ensure the long-term success of the estate. They will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of activities, from farm management to property development, while prioritising environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Appoint, instruct, and monitor farm contractors
  • Prepare farm plans, budgets, and management accounts
  • Submit applications for grants and ensure compliance
  • Investigate and implement farm diversification opportunities
  • Identify and advance \’natural capital\’ opportunities
  • Maintain farm infrastructure, including buildings and fencing
  • Oversee the estate\’s let property portfolio
  • Assist in realising development opportunities
  • Liaise with the local community for sustainability

Requirements

  • RICS or other appropriate qualification
