The Organisation

Our client helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives regardless of how or when they lost their sight. They are now looking for a part-time Driver to join them on a permanent basis, working 15 hours per week. The role will involve working evenings and weekends as required and undertaking some overnight stays.

The Role

As a Driver, you’ll provide a safe and enjoyable transportation service to the people using our client’s services to and from their centre and on journeys throughout their stay. Using a variety of vehicles, you will help create positive member experiences, ensuring a seamless service, transporting members for appointments or group outings, and focusing on safety, support and communication.

As part of your role, you will:

  • Plan and manage routes considering passenger needs and comfort
  • Perform routine vehicle checks and report any issues
  • Escort and provide sighted guiding when required
  • Assess venues for accessibility and suitability

About You

To be considered as a Driver, you will need:

  • A clean, valid driving licence with category D1 entitlement (for a minibus)
  • Experience in customer service
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases and intranet systems
  • A solution-focused approach
