Location: 7 Penda Way, Sandbach, CW11 1GS.

Hours: 15 hours per week over 3 days (including Saturdays on rota).

Pay: £12.71 per hour.

About the role

We are Sue Ryder, one of the largest charity retailers in the UK, with over 400 shops. Every item sold generates funding to provide 2.7 million hours of support to people at end of life or living with grief. As a shop assistant you will help inspire communities through retail, contributing to income that supports care services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a well‑presented shop, provide great customer service, and assist customers with their purchases.
  • Help maximise donated income through proactive stock generation, optimisation and pricing, processing stock to agreed levels, and stock planning.
  • Set high standards of merchandising and housekeeping, prioritising health and safety.
  • Manage effective stock processes to ensure the shop is well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock at all times.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder, supporting in‑store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.

Minimum Essential Criteria

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Cash handling / till experience.
  • Basic IT skills (emails, instant messaging, video calls).
  • Organisational skills.
  • Lone working experience.

Desirable Criteria

  • High‑street retail, leisure or hospitality background.
  • Experience with KPIs and targets.
  • Team player mindset.
  • Merchandising / stock rotation experience.
