Our client helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives regardless of how or when they lost their sight. They are now looking for an Occupational Therapy Specialist to join them on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract, working Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, with flexibility dependent on service needs.

The Role
As an Occupational Therapy Specialist, you will support vision-impaired ex-service people through a range of therapeutic solutions, assessments and interventions. With the aim of improving independence and wellbeing, you’ll develop and deliver outcome-focused therapies that promote safety and engagement in meaningful activities. You will help ex-service people adapt to sight loss and equip them with the motivation and ability to live full and independent lives. You will also contribute to a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with other wellbeing professionals to develop holistic support strategies tailored to each ex-service person.
Additionally, you will:
- Carry out individual assessments and develop tailored intervention plans
- Support ex-service people to meet realistic and empowering personal goals
- Deliver interventions with a focus on daily living skills and psychological wellbeing
- Provide education and advice to ex-service people and their support networks
- Monitor progress and adjust approaches to maximise outcomes
About You
To be considered as an Occupational Therapy Specialist, you will need:
- HCPC registration
- A degree or higher qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A caring and empathetic approach with a strong commitment to support
