The Organisation

Our client is a membership network for community organisations. Their goal is simple: to help community organisations be the best that they can be and to create a supportive environment for their work.

They are now looking for a Community Organisation Development Manager to join them on a full-time, permanent basis, working 35 hours per week (for exceptional candidates, our client is happy to consider requests for part-time hours).

The Role

As a Community Organisation Development Manager, you will strengthen and support community organisations across the West Midlands.

Developing and delivering tailored support services and consultancy programmes, you will work directly with community organisations, local authorities and other partners to help them thrive.

You will also identify business development opportunities, lead bids and tenders, and build strong strategic relationships that generate income and create lasting opportunities for the sector.

Additionally, you will:

  • Promote our client’s services and achieve agreed income targets
  • Support and develop delivery teams and associates
  • Work with colleagues to grow and engage our client’s membership
  • Ensure services meet contractual requirements and quality standards

About You

To be considered as a Community Organisation Development Manager, you will need:

  • Proven experience designing and delivering consultancy services or similar strategic support programmes
  • Demonstrable experience winning contracts, securing funding bids, and developing income-generating opportunities
  • A strong track record of successful business development, innovation, strategic management, and effective delivery of projects and services
  • Experience building effective delivery partnerships
  • Experience overseeing and ensuring the provision of high-quality support to community organisations, including managing teams to meet performance targets
  • An in-depth understanding of community enterprise, community asset development, community contracting, localism and related fields
  • The ability to work with members, assess needs and develop appropriate services
