An exciting opportunity has now arisen within the Lisburn & Banbridge agency of NFU Mutual for a Claims Handler to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm, with a 4:30pm finish on Fridays. Requests for 4 days per week will be considered.

The Role
As an Insurance Claims Handler, you will be the first point of contact for customers reporting claims, providing reassurance, guidance and outstanding service throughout the claims process. Working across a range of personal, commercial and agricultural insurance products, you'll accurately record and set up claims, gather relevant information and manage claims in line with your delegated authority. You'll take ownership of smaller claims from initial notification through to settlement, ensuring they are handled efficiently, fairly and in accordance with company procedures. For larger, more complex or higher-value claims, you'll ensure all relevant information is obtained before referring the claim to NFU Mutual's Head Office Claims team, while continuing to support customers and keep them informed of progress. You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate records, liaising with policyholders and third parties, and delivering a high standard of customer care at every stage. Working closely with colleagues, you'll also play a vital role in maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring processes are completed accurately and efficiently. As your knowledge and experience develops, you'll also have the opportunity to support wider Agency activities, including customer service, policy administration and identifying opportunities to discuss NFU Mutual products and services with existing and prospective customers.
About You
To be considered as an Insurance Advisor, you will need:
- At a minimum, 8 GCSEs or equivalent at level 4 / Grade C or above, including Maths and English
- Excellent communication skills, with a strong customer focus and professional approach
- Resilience, self-motivation, and disciplined pipeline management
- High attention to detail, with strong organisation and time management skills
Claims handling, insurance or customer service experience is desirable but not essential.
