Medscape Medical Affairs is seeking a highly organised Associate Account Manager with a background in Life Sciences. This is an entry-to-mid-level role designed for someone who combines strong scientific understanding with commercially curiosity and is eager to bridge the gap between scientific data and client-facing project execution.
You will support senior leadership in managing the day-to-day operations of medical education programs, ensuring that projects remain on schedule, scientifically accurate, and aligned with client goals. This role provides a clear path to becoming a specialized Account Director or Medical Strategist.
Responsibilities
- Scientific & Commercial Support
- Outreach Assistance: Support Sales and Medical Strategy teams with researching and conducting early-stage prospecting for new client outreach based on scientific opportunity.
- Congress Strategy Support: Help coordinate logistics, scientific briefing and scheduling for client meetings at major international medical congresses.
- Data Synthesis: Assist in reviewing therapeutic area insights to help create draft proposal concepts for medical education programs.
- Project Tracking: Use task management systems to monitor the progress and track outcomes of educational proposals, ensuring no deadlines are missed.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Consistently meet with internal teams to ensure alignment between medical strategy and business development efforts.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field (Essential).
- Experience: 0–2 years of experience. We welcome recent graduates with relevant internships in healthcare agencies, pharmaceutical companies, medical communications, or digital marketing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel for tracking and PowerPoint for presentations). Familiarity with internet technologies is a plus. Strong understanding of therapeutic areas and the ability to quickly grasp complex scientific concepts. Excellent writing skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and compelling outreach materials.
- Attributes: Extreme attention to detail (documentation is key!). Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. A genuine interest in how medical science is communicated to healthcare professionals.
