The Affiliate Account Director is a senior role within our team, responsible for leading the affiliate marketing strategies of high-value clients. This position blends strategic oversight with hands-on management, focusing on measurable performance, client retention, and long-term growth. Acting as a key member of the Account Management team, the Account Director provides expert guidance to both clients and partner agencies, developing tailored affiliate strategies that align with broader business KPIs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Agency Account Director at Webgains, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our agency strategy and leading the development of a high-performing team. You’ll be responsible for driving the growth of both new and existing agency relationships, building trust, and sharing your experience to support client success and long-term growth. In this leadership role, you’ll not only develop and mentor your team but also represent Webgains at key industry events. You’ll keep a close eye on the competitive landscape and stay ahead of emerging trends - such as publisher innovation, third-party tech solutions, and affinity partnerships - ensuring Webgains remains at the forefront of affiliate marketing. KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate strong decision making in line with company goals, social, and environmental best practice.
  • Take full ownership of agency client relationships, becoming their trusted partner by leading regular meetings, strategic planning sessions, and affiliate days.
  • Actively listen to agency needs and challenges, providing tailored support to drive sustainable growth - always guided by the broader knowledge and leadership of the Webgains senior team.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with key affiliate partners to deliver innovative, high-performing campaigns.
  • Lead with confidence and integrity, making decisions that reflect Webgains’ commercial goals as well as our commitment to social and environmental best practices.
  • Oversee the growth and strategic development of the agency account management team.
  • Deliver proactive, solutions-focused support to agency clients.
  • Set the strategic direction for the agency portfolio, developing and implementing growth plans to achieve and exceed monthly performance targets.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, such as Quarterly Performance Planning (QPMs).
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to identify key partnership opportunities.
  • Negotiate high-value, bespoke opportunities for Webgains’ agency portfolio.
  • Take overall responsibility for the commercial performance and profitability (P&L) of agency team accounts.
  • Drive client acquisition and strategic distribution within the agency portfolio.
  • Support the continuous development of the account management team through structured training sessions, coaching, and hands-on leadership.
  • Prioritise the wellbeing, growth, and success of your team.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in affiliate account management.
  • At least two years working with or within an agency environment.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Some experience managing people or mentoring junior team members.
