As the Team Leader, you won’t just write exceptional code, you’ll shape our technical direction, mentor talented developers, and collaborate across teams to build products that scale effortlessly and perform reliably. Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of software developers and support their growth and development.
- Write high-quality code and conduct peer-to-peer code reviews.
- Contribute to and follow coding standards, architectural guidelines and structure.
- Collaborate with your manager and peers to help define how we build software, scale our systems, and evolve our engineering culture.
Qualifications:
- Team Leadership: Ability to lead a development team, supporting goal and growth expectations.
- SaaS: Solid understanding of the SaaS model in the online environment.
- Core Technology Experience: Proven experience in designing and building scalable, and maintainable applications using Java (Java 8+, and experience or strong desire to work with Java 21) and Spring Boot.
- AWS Expertise: Understanding and hands-on experience with core AWS services.
- Database Knowledge: Experience with SQL databases including Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Mobile Development: Experience with native mobile app development using Swift & Java.
- Software Development Best Practices: A strong commitment to writing clean, well-tested, secure, and maintainable code. Proficient with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Documentation: Technical design and documentation skills.
- Inquisitive: Attention to detail and a genuine interest in technological trends.
- Experience in the FinTech or expense management industry.
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging queues.

This is a full-time, permanent role, based in the UK. Our R&D team works to a hybrid model as well as remotely; you must be able to commute to our office (OX28 postcode) as required.
