Responsibilities include:
- Manage clients, team resources and deliverables around major campaigns and programs.
- Serve as key participant in client meetings and presentations; craft, present and execute integrated engagement strategies for major campaigns.
- Conduct and manage the flow of research and materials development necessary to analyse client issues.
- Monitor parliaments, governments and policy developments for client risks and opportunities.
- Understand policy and industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client.
- Proof and edit client-related documents.
- Mentor and train junior team members.
- Participate in brainstorms and planning.
- Contribute to new business pitch content creation and organic business growth efforts (proactive/reactive).
- Continue to grow financial acumen by managing budgets, assisting with account budget and time entry analyses, and supporting account invoicing.
- Work more closely with manager and finance to better understand any client issues that may impact the business.
- Begin working with legal on vendor agreements.
To be considered for this role, you must have experience developing and delivering effective public affairs and issues management campaigns in the Scottish political landscape. Ideal experience required includes:
- Experience of affecting policy change either in-house or in a consultancy environment.
- Experience of managing projects independently.
- A passion for politics, with a track record of developing and delivering effective campaigns.
- Unafraid to ask questions and to challenge clients’ and colleagues’ perspectives when necessary.
- An active interest in politics and current affairs.
- Able to analyse complex information and understand how it relates to the political agenda.
