Weber Shandwick is looking for a talented Manager who wants to be part of the Corporate Enterprise practice in our London office. The practice is made up of a smart, dedicated and fun team with expertise spanning B2B, Corporate, Public Affairs, Crisis/Issues, Social Impact/ESG and Technology. The ideal candidate will be an experienced practitioner who is curious, ambitious, proactive and friendly. The role offers a portfolio of well-known global brands, as well as work on integrated campaigns involving earned media, strategy, creative, analytics and digital specialists. You’ll lead the day-to-day running of some of our most exciting tech accounts, provide counsel, support in the development of media and campaign strategies and manage the flawless execution of activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build client relationships by providing counsel to multiple clients, driving execution of tactical plans and managing internal integrated teams to ensure high quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrate passion and talent for media relations, lead and drive strategic earned media programs across multiple clients, including utilizing network of journalist relationships to drive results that meet clients’ objectives.
  • Compose media materials (press releases, pitch notes, client briefings, messaging documents, sample Q&A, proposals, bylined articles, supporting social content, etc.) and conduct media outreach.
  • Drive project management, overseeing overall account trackers and other trackers as needed.
  • Draft and review press releases, media strategies, reactive media statements, talking points, FAQs, memos, and other deliverables as needed.
  • Successfully manage client expectations ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets and quality standards; manage clients, team resources and deliverables.
  • Serve as key participant in client meetings and presentations; execute integrated communications strategies.
  • Conduct and manage the flow of research and materials development necessary to analyze client issues.
  • Function across disciplines with a knowledge of social media strategies and tactics.
  • Monitor media outlets for coverage of client and competitor news, leveraging digital and social outlets, key influencers, etc.
  • Understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client.
  • Proof and edit client related documents.

SELF LEADERSHIP AND TEAM EFFECTIVENESS

  • Begin to participate in the hiring process, partnering with hiring managers to interview candidates and support the onboarding of new team members.
  • Mentor and train junior team members.
  • Consistently display behaviours that support integration.

GROWTH AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Participate in new business pitches, brainstorms and planning.
  • Contribute to new business pitch content creation and organic business growth efforts (proactive/reactive).

BUSINESS ACUMEN

  • Continue to grow financial acumen by managing budgets, assisting with account budget and time entry analyses.
  • Work more closely with manager and finance to better understand any client issues that may impact the business.
  • Begin working with legal on vendor agreements.

To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience at a similar level in a PR agency or corporate communications role.

Ideal Experience Required

  • An interest in the complex world of B2B/Corporate comms and in particular, the technology industry.
  • Proficiency in both media relations and the delivery of an exceptional client experience.
  • A comprehensive roster of journalist contacts and vertical sector beats at titles covering international, national and trade/vertical sector publications.
  • A proven ability to manage large and multi-market teams to deliver work of the highest quality.
  • Experience working with multiple disciplines and specialists to deliver integrated campaigns.
  • Mastery in copywriting a range of external and media materials including press releases, key message documents, pitches, social media content, etc.
  • Familiarity with quantitative analytics and an ability to set and evaluate campaign metrics.
  • Strong presentation skills and a desire and experience being involved in new business pitching.
  • Experience developing and managing campaigns and being a day‑day lead for clients, with a track record of providing strategic counsel.
  • Be an excellent communicator and possess exceptional writing skills, particularly the ability to digest complex information and turn it into compelling, understandable written copy.
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for the client, practice and team.
  • Attentive to detail and quality.
  • Fluency in Microsoft programs and digital/social media platforms, tools and solutions.
