Location: London, NW1

Salary: £39,362.67 per year

Hours: Full-time

Shifts: 2-week rotating rota. Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday, then the rota repeats.

Shift Times: 8:00am to 8:00pm

Please note: We do not hold licences to support overseas candidates. You must have experience working within a children's residential setting and have relevant experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join an established 3-bed children's residential home located in London, NW1, supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

This role is suitable for candidates commuting from areas across Central London and the surrounding areas who can reliably travel to NW1.

As an experienced Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager with the day to day running of the home, ensuring children receive safe, consistent and high quality care within a nurturing and supportive environment.

You will play a key role in supporting the staff team, maintaining safeguarding and compliance standards, overseeing care plans and risk assessments, and ensuring the home operates in line with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with the Registered Manager and wider team to maintain a positive environment for the children, support staff development and ensure their individual needs, wishes and feelings remain at the centre of the care provided.

The role is based around a structured 8:00am to 8:00pm shift pattern, with the rota shared between the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager. Sleep-ins are included within the salary and are rarely required, depending on the circumstances and needs of the home.

Requirements:

  • A positive, caring and compassionate approach to supporting children and young people.
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with children and young people.
  • Experience working within a children's residential setting.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Previous experience in a senior or management position within children's residential care.
  • Ability to support the Registered Manager with the effective day to day running of the home.
  • Ability to provide leadership, guidance and direction to the staff team.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Understanding of risk assessments, care plans and behaviour management strategies.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.

  • Knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards is desirable.
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent is required.
  • Relevant Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence is desirable where required by the service.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK without s p o n s o r s h i p .
