We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced retail sales advisor to join our Toys & Pets department at our Wychbold store.

Garden Centre Team Member (Pets/Toys)

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Pets/Toy department at our Wychbold garden centre on a permanent, part time basis.

You’ll play a key role in creating a fun, welcoming retail environment while ensuring shelves are well-stocked, displays are attractive, and company sales targets are met.

You’ll drive sales and deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and recommending appropriate toys and products.

Responsibilities include

  • Greet customers warmly, offer assistance, and provide knowledgeable recommendations based on the age, interests, and needs of the child or gift recipient.
  • Meet or exceed individual and store sales targets through effective upselling, cross-selling, and promotional initiatives. Promote Webbs club card.
  • Process sales transactions efficiently, handling cash and card payments accurately. Process refunds or exchanges, and issue receipts where necessary.
  • Ensure shelves are well-stocked and products are attractively displayed. Assist with stock replenishment, inventory counts, and receiving deliveries.
  • Set up and maintain engaging, themed displays that reflect current promotions, holidays, or seasonal events.
  • Handle customer concerns or queries professionally, escalating issues to a manager when necessary.
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues and management to support store operations and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Maintain a tidy, safe shopping environment, ensuring toys are stored appropriately and aisles are clear.

The successful candidate will have

  • Experience of promoting and demonstrating products, upselling, and meeting sales targets in a retail environment.
  • Ability to create a ‘magical’ environment for customers of all ages through fun interactions
  • A friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic with a genuine desire to help customers and create a fun shopping experience.
  • Experiencing of merchandising and creating visually exciting displays.

This is a part time, permanent role working 16 hours per week, flexible contract.

The roles are based at our store in Wychbold and so you must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
