We have an excellent opportunity for seven experienced individuals to join the Flora Fields team at our Wychbold garden centre. Webbs is an award‑winning garden centre retailer with four stores and a growing eCommerce business. Our stores are premium garden centres with exceptional indoor and outdoor horticulture departments, a range of high‑quality gifts, homeware, furniture and clothing. In this role, you’ll be the face of our Flora Fields experience, welcoming guests, helping them make the most of their visit, and representing the spirit of Flora Fields and Webbs with pride.
Responsibilities- Brief guests on arrival: outline what’s on offer and proactively sell the full Flora Fields experience, including food, drink, retail and events.
- Check ticket types, request ID for seasonal passes and scan Clubcards to process free entry where applicable.
- Politely remind Pick Your Own guests how many dahlia stems they have paid for.
- Provide guests with equipment such as snips or buckets.
- Advise visitors on the different dahlia varieties, how to cut them properly, and how to care for them at home (training will be provided).
- Wrap cut dahlias for guests to take home (training will be provided).
- Set up and maintain the retail display each day, and pack away stock at close.
- Collect picnic hampers from the kitchen, transfer chilled items to the Airstream, and serve guests food and drink during their booking.
- Check picnic hampers back in at the end of a visit, confirm all items are returned (flasks, blankets, etc.), and process picnic deposit refunds.
- Assist in catering aspects of the field, taking and making drinks orders to accompany pre‑ordered picnics, alongside visitors to the Riverside Gardens.
- Take on physical, hands‑on tasks including helping the grounds team with field prep, mulching, planting and deadheading before the field opens or when the field is closed to customers.
- Outgoing and engaging; able to create genuine connections with guests.
- Strong selling instincts and a commercially minded approach; naturally spot opportunities to upsell and enhance the customer experience through thoughtful recommendations.
- Resourceful and adaptable; willing to jump into any task, whether chatting to guests, helping in the Airstream, or getting hands dirty in the flowerbeds.
- Social‑savvy; encourage guests to take and share photos and video content on social media, tagging Webbs.
- Creative eye; confident styling displays, wrapping flowers beautifully, and presenting the site and products in a visually appealing way.
- Observant, curious and conscientious; read and digest the event brief thoroughly, take initiative and pay close attention to detail.
- Knowledge of dahlia varieties or a love of seasonal flowers is desirable. An interest in gardening or horticulture would also be an advantage.
This is a zero‑hours fixed‑term role with a good work‑life balance, commencing August 2026 and ending October 2026. The role is based at our store in Wychbold; you must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
