Garden Centre Team Leader (Home & Lifestyle) - Webbs, Wychbold

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to join our toy department at our Wychbold garden centre.

Webbs is an award-winning garden centre retailer with four stores and a growing ecommerce business. Our stores are premium garden centres with exceptional indoor and outdoor horticulture departments, a range of quality gifts, homeware, furniture and clothing. Our high quality restaurants offer freshly prepared, seasonally changing menus.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Home and Lifestyle Manager, duties include: Motivating and inspiring the team to drive and increase sales.
  • Leading the team to ensure that individuals possess a high level of product knowledge, and they perform in an effective and responsible manner in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage staff rotas, working hours, absence and holiday requests.
  • Assisting and advising customers about products and services across the Home and Lifestyle departments.
  • Create inspirational visual merchandising to keep the displays relevant to seasons and events.
  • Support ongoing store communications ensuring team members are aware of current and planned activity, new or amended procedures and newly launched products.
  • Supervise stock replenishment to ensure products are displayed correctly and to the highest level.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Significant experience of leading and motivating a team, monitoring performance and workforce planning.
  • Strong IT and administration skills are required because you\\\'ll be using our systems to process customer orders and keep our stock inventory up to date.
  • Experience of training team members in the use of IT systems.
  • Strong retail sales experience and great customer service skills. You will enjoy customer interactions and be able to build rapport quickly.
  • Confidence in approaching and engaging with customers with your naturally outgoing, positive personality. You\\\'ll listen, ask questions and provide trusted, enthusiastic advice.

Details

This is a permanent position, working an average 30 hours per week. The shift pattern is 5 days out of 7 which includes working weekends. Start date to be confirmed until 4th January 2026.

The role is based at our store in Wychbold and so you must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
