We are recruiting for an experienced PLC Software Engineer to join a well-established engineering business in Manchester. The company provides end-to-end solutions across mechanical and electrical design, installation, testing, maintenance, and SCADA-based plant monitoring, working with clients in manufacturing, material handling, and energy sectors.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on varied, technically interesting projects within a business known for delivering high-quality, reliable solutions. You’ll be responsible for the design, programming and commissioning of PLC control systems, working across the full project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:- PLC programming, development, and testing
- Design and implementation of control systems
- SCADA and HMI development
- Testing and commissioning
- Fault finding and system troubleshooting
- Producing technical documentation
- Working closely with electrical and mechanical teams
- Previous experience as a PLC Software Engineer or similar
- Strong PLC programming skills (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi)
- Experience with SCADA systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Up to £70,000 depending on experience
