Are you an experienced AutoCAD Electrical Designer with a background in industrial automation and control panels? Do you have experience producing electrical schematics and panel layouts for PLC and SCADA systems? Do you enjoy working closely with automation engineers and project teams to deliver high-quality control system designs? The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of electrical drawings and control panel documentation for industrial automation projects across a range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and modify AutoCAD electrical drawings for PLC, SCADA, MCC, and automation control panels
- Produce detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and terminal details
- Support the design and development of industrial automation and control systems
- Work closely with automation engineers, electricians, and project teams throughout design and installation phases
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications
- Assist with BOM (Bill of Materials) preparation and component selection
- Support panel fabrication, FAT testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities where required
- Maintain accurate project documentation, drawing revisions, and engineering records
- Interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and control schematics
- Previous experience in an AutoCAD Electrical Design / Electrical Design Engineer role within industrial automation or control systems
- Strong proficiency using AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical drafting software
- Good understanding of PLC systems and SCADA architectures
- Knowledge of industrial control panels, instrumentation, and electrical circuits
- Familiarity with industrial networking and automation components
- Understanding of panel wiring standards and electrical compliance requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
