In this role you will support the Financial Controller in ensuring that the assets and liabilities of the company are properly recorded and appropriately controlled.
Key responsibilities:- Prepare monthly PL analysis for all entities for review with Financial Controller.
- Review and posting of monthly operating expenditure accruals, ensuring team members are paying invoices on a timely basis.
- Preparing and posting regular monthly journals including management fee, accruals, prepayments.
- Ensuring timely accrual, payment and filing of all local & statutory requirements, including corporate tax and remaining regulatory requirements.
- Preparation and submission of National Statistics forms.
- Monitoring intercompany postings, preparing reconciliations at month end, support intercompany team.
- Quarterly VAT return preparation, filing and reconciliation.
- Preparing MIS for US tax return and quarterly advance tax payments.
- Handle all accounting/reporting compliance for all entities under Europe/NAM region (ones not covered above).
- Monitoring and improving the data flows into the accounting system with the IT team including analysis control.
- Review of automated FX calculations.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review of monthly overhead costs and ensure all costs are in the correct business unit.
- Assist with the monthly RADE process by investigating queries and preparing adjusting journals.
- Open all mail received and delegate it to the responsible person, including filing.
- Cash cheques in the bank, process details in the accounting system and inform the person responsible.
- Assist with intercompany reconciliations - intercompany accounts maintenance and reconciliation, posting of recharges, issuing recharge invoices.
- Continual review and improvement of processes.
- Main coordinator for external and internal audit.
- Assist with year-end audit requests and queries.
- Assist with any other ad hoc requests and project work as required.
- Preferably qualified/part qualified ACCA.
- Degree educated.
- Strong numeracy.
- Work responsibly and take ownership of tasks handled.
- Experience working in an international business and accounting in multiple currencies.
- Solid working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Good understanding of accounts software (Sun systems and SAP/S4 Hana).
- Working towards professional accounting qualification (not mandatory).
- Experience working as part of a team and also able to take ownership of specific issues.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Well organised, highly accurate and with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines.
