As a well-loved and established medical practice, Preston Grove Medical Centre is situated in the busy town of Yeovil on the Somerset/Dorset border. We are now looking for a Receptionist to join us on a permanent, part‑time basis, working 21 hours per week.
Working Hours
- Monday 8.00am-12.00pm
- Tuesday 08.00am-12.00pm
- Wednesday 2.30pm-6.30pm
- Friday 8.30am-6.30pm (including an hour unpaid lunch break)

Role
As a Receptionist, you will provide a front‑line reception and administrative service, helping ensure our practice runs smoothly and patients feel supported. Acting as the first point of contact for patients, you will deal with enquiries in person and over the phone, book appointments, update records, and help people get the right support.
Working closely with doctors, nurses and colleagues, you will also support the wider administrative needs of the practice. This will include managing correspondence, supporting patient flow on the day, keeping waiting areas organised, and helping ensure information is available when needed.
About You
- Experience working with the general public
- Good customer care skills
- The ability to communicate sensitively with staff and patients, ensuring confidentiality at all times
- Basic keyboard skills
- Good organisational skills
- At a minimum, GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4 - 9 (C - A*), including English and Maths
