Your Role
The Operations team supports internal processes across the company, and we’re looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and resourceful Procurement Specialist to support procurement. This role ensures that purchasing workflows run smoothly from request to approval, and stakeholders across the organization get the tools and services they need with full compliance and accountability.
Your Impact in the First 180 Days:
- 30 Days: Get fully onboarded with our internal tools (e.g. Confluence, Jira, Slack, shared folders). Familiarize yourself with current procurement and vendor coordination processes. Meet key cross-functional stakeholders involved in procurement (Finance, Accounting, Legal, Engineering, etc.). Shadow live procurement cases and observe internal review and approval steps.
- 60 Days: Begin managing smaller procurement requests independently with little oversight. Establish working rhythms with Accounting, Legal, and stakeholders. Identify opportunities to improve the flow of communication and clarity in handoffs.
- 120 Days: Confidently support complex procurement requests by coordinating between teams, and tracking progress in Jira. Provide feedback on internal workflows based on real cases, especially where gaps or ambiguities affect turnaround. Assist with maintaining procurement documentation and updating stakeholders on evolving best practices.
- 180 Days: Act as a reliable coordination partner for procurement workflows, ensuring vendors are supported and internal processes are followed. Champion consistent usage of internal tools and guidance, helping stakeholders engage the system effectively. Collaborate with the Operations team to support future improvements or scale processes as needed.
As a fully integrated member of the Operations team, you will play a key role in sustaining and evolving our procurement workflows. You will consistently collaborate across departments to ensure requests move smoothly from intake to execution, while identifying areas where tooling, documentation, and processes can be refined. By 180 days, I expect the individual in this role to be known as the primary procurement resource for US agreements.
You’ll thrive here if you:
- Are highly organized, resourceful, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Think critically and exercise sound judgment when handling complex tasks.
- Are passionate about process improvement.
- Can comfortably engage with vendors and high-level stakeholders.
- Have experience working with global time zones and cross-functional teams.
- Bring expert-level understanding of end-to-end procurement, and understand the basics of contract review.
- Have proven, hands-on Jira experience, including managing issues, boards, and workflow status transitions.
- Have hands-on experience using AI tools in daily work.
You might struggle here if you:
- Prefer working with a perfectly defined process or rigid hierarchy.
- Find task management or documentation tedious.
- Are uncomfortable juggling multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities.
- Require frequent, detailed instructions before you can get started.
- Are only comfortable working in a dedicated procurement platform.
- Are reluctant to adopt or experiment with AI tools in your workflow.
