Weavr is the easiest way for businesses to embed relevant financial services into software at the point of need. Weavr recently secured its Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence to support European customers and continues to invest in premium localised payments capabilities to better serve existing and future B2B SaaS partners.
Founded by serial entrepreneurs who are leaders in payments and fintech, we are a team of can-do builders at the frontier of the embedded-finance industry. Our team is characterised by smart, kind, and high-performing experts who value respect, openness, and trust. Weavr is small enough for every individual to make an impact, yet operates at the level of a more mature organisation.
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our software development team to help us develop further our embedded banking and payments platform. As a Senior Java Developer you will help deliver innovative technologies that make integrating banking and payments services as simple, flexible and accessible as any other API. As a team, we aim to be agile and deliver solutions for our customers in a fast and efficient manner. Our platform is already being used by customers, and as part of our development team you will work on the many enhancements we have planned. With your expertise and experience in engineering solutions for complex problems, you will help shape the future platform and continuously raise the bar for embedded banking and payments.
We’re pragmatic engineers who value shipping over perfection. We encourage experimentation, learn from failures, and run regular hackathons. Engineers have autonomy to make technical decisions whilst we maintain quality through collaboration and automation.
The section below describes our "ideal candidate." However, our hiring process places a strong emphasis on aptitude and passion. If you haven’t used every specific tool or haven’t met all the skill and experience criteria listed, please don’t let that discourage you from applying. We highly value potential and dedication over a rigid checklist of qualifications. However, it’s important to note that you bring extensive java engineering experience working with design patterns and frameworks such as Spring/Micronaut.

- Keen on best engineering practices.
- Experience with TDD, CI/CD pipelines, and modern engineering practices.
- Proven ability to design scalable, maintainable solutions following SOLID principles.
Desirable:
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) for code generation, debugging, and refactoring.
- Experience in payments, fintech, or regulated industries.
- Knowledge of Micronaut framework.
- Experience with reactive programming (Project Reactor, RxJava).
- Familiarity with MongoDB, Redis, jOOQ, Flyway.
