WeatherShield Maintenance Group is recruiting Qualified Electricians to work across social housing and residential maintenance contracts.

The role involves carrying out electrical maintenance, fault finding and remedial works in occupied and void domestic properties. Daytime roles are available, with separate out-of-hours / emergency roles also available for suitably experienced electricians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical maintenance and repair works in domestic and social housing properties
  • Fault finding, minor works and remedial repairs
  • Complete electrical testing and certification where required
  • Work professionally in occupied homes, including vulnerable residents
  • Follow electrical RAMS, method statements and lone-working procedures
  • Record job updates, photographs and electrical documentation via mobile systems
  • Maintain electrical tools, test equipment and PPE to a professional standard

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification via an approved route (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or Experienced Worker route)
  • AM2 / AM2S / AM2E / AM2ED successfully completed
  • Valid Gold ECS Electrician card
  • Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • Proven experience working in domestic or social housing properties
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach

Working Hours

  • Day works: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
  • Out-of-hours / emergency roles available separately
  • Day electricians are not required to undertake emergency cover

Pay, Vehicles and Insurance

  • £250 per day base rate
  • Additional £30 per day where authorised to use own vehicle
  • Company vehicles may be provided depending on role and availability

The role is offered on a self-employed / CIS basis. Electricians must hold valid Public Liability Insurance with a minimum £2 million cover. Where own vehicles are used, appropriate business-use motor insurance is required.
