Weatherford have a great opportunity for an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join the team in Aberdeen, UK. The EUA (Europe & Africa) Sourcing Specialist is responsible for facilitating an efficient sourcing process by building relationships with suppliers, negotiating cost and developing agreements for the Goods and Services required at multiple locations within the Geozone and/or the Region, this involves using established sourcing methodology, electronic platforms and tools. The role will report to the GZ Procurement & Sourcing Manager and will liaise with overall Company sourcing strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Operations: Develop and implement the sourcing plan, working closely with Operations and Manufacturing Management to refine the sourcing strategy and plans for the Geozone and/or Region for the upcoming year. Assess sourcing and category opportunities, analysing spend data from multiple sources, structured analysis of supplier/category industry to identify trends, purchasing patterns, competitive position, market conditions and expiring contracts to indicate ways to improve pricing, quality, service and technology. Execute sourcing events (RFX’s), negotiate hard savings and/or benefits to lower the overall cost to the organization. Maintain accurate and up to date contracts and supplier records. Award contracts and agreements to suppliers that comply with company requirements. Track performance aspects of contracts and supplier development including contract inventory, segmentation, risk assessments, contingency planning and validation of right pricing. Ensure safe and efficient utilization of company systems, tools and spreadsheets/reports. Create strategic alliances with suppliers to develop and maintain long-term supply partnerships. Work with all relevant parties in the consolidation and rationalization of Supplier base.

  • Quality: Be familiar with the Company's Quality policies and take an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford’s Management System. Maintain service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seek areas for improvement.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external. Clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to reports. Maintain effective level of communication with a broad range of stakeholders in order to plan and prioritise sourcing initiatives to support business requirements. Communicate timely, clear and concise the impact of sourcing decisions to stakeholders, leading meetings with suppliers for the resolution or mitigation of key/critical issues to ensure alignment with project expectations. Maintain contact and network with supplier community.

Collaborate with Human Resources and Training Development to drive strategies for the recruitment and retention of key personnel and to foster an environment that supports the attraction and retention of a high performing talented workforce.
  • Vision & Leadership: Demonstrate leadership, ethical behaviour and adherence to Weatherford standards at all times. Identify process problems and concerns and make recommendations for innovative solutions and corrective actions to achieve desirable results, helping the company better manage cost on supplies and supplier services.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent combination of higher degree and related experience.
  • Legally authorized to work in the UK.
  • Minimum 3-7+ years related experience with demonstrated competencies in a sourcing and procurement position.
  • Experienced in MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) and Facility Management Categories.
  • Ability to interact in English and potentially other language relevant in local hub.
  • Intermediate Excel user and proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Familiarity with Procurement and Sourcing principles and techniques: Procure-to-Pay full cycle, e-catalogs, e-ordering and e-invoicing Strategic Sourcing methodology and tools.
  • Analysing data regarding the cost and availability of materials and services that are needed to complete projects.
  • Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of commodity industry.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, including cost models.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Comprehend the industry and the marketplace.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental contracting and agreements principles with the ability to create contracts using Company templates.
  • Display impeccable time-management, detail oriented and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task with proven record of meeting deadlines.
  • Must be flexible with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment and quickly adapt to operational requirements.

Qualifications & Experience Preferred:

  • Supply Market expertise in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Advanced MS Excel user.
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and Oracle platforms and services.
  • Project management skills.

Travel Required: This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to 10%.
