Minimum qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in data center colocation infrastructure management/planning.
  • Experience with AutoCAD drafting.
  • Experience with electrical or mechanical engineering in a data center environment.
  • Experience with construction project management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in an industry setting.
  • Experience working on evaluating data center infrastructure and designing cages and associated infrastructure.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking and prioritisation skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent financial and communication skills with a data-motivated investigative approach to solve tests.

About the job

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You’re equally comfortable explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of space and power management for colocation environments.
  • Evaluate colocation facilities to ensure they meet internal reliability requirements.
  • Review and understand Google’s Network Architecture Standards.
  • Communicate with partners along with internal business owners to collect drivers and deadlines for delivering colocation space and associated infrastructure.
  • Draft Statement Of Work (SOW) design/Engineering Drawing Sets.
  • Design spaces that meet current needs while maintaining flexibility for the future.
