Minimum qualifications:

About the job

As a Staff Content Designer, you'll work across a broad portfolio of products at the heart of Google’s business. You'll be the first content designer on the team and have a high degree of autonomy to shape how the function operates, balancing strategic leadership with visible impact. As part of a new UX leadership team, you’ll help shape ways of working across a rapidly growing UX team. You’ll shape product experiences through a user-centered lens while driving impact on key business goals. You'll be responsible for demonstrating how strategic content design leads to tangible results in end-to-end journeys and conversational AI experiences alike. We view this role as essential to our product strategy, requiring a content designer who thrives on the responsibility of moving the needle through their work and lifting up those around them.

Responsibilities

  • Provide both high-level strategic direction and content design to scale quality writing and content design.
  • Drive complex alignment efforts across different product boundaries to create cohesion.
  • Drive scalable frameworks, design systems, and design patterns to address high-complexity challenges.
  • Drive the quality and behavior of AI models by establishing robust model training practices, writing exemplary content, and evaluating response quality.
  • Set the standard for user-centered AI interactions, addressing trust, personality, and tone.
  • Leverage strong partnerships across product, engineering, and research to articulate and guide product strategy toward delivering high-impact results.
  • Elevate content design and UX writing craft in the organization.
  • Develop and pioneer new practices and approaches, including agentic workflows.
