About the role
Product Managers at Tesco Technology are passionate about solving customer and business problems and discovering new opportunities. They take accountability for complex problems and company strategic products, and are empowered to drive the product strategy, the roadmap and the outcomes. Driven by curiosity and innovation, coupled with a strong partnership with Business, Engineering, User Research & Design and Analytics teams, our Product Managers create value for our customers across the Tesco Group.
Product Lifecycle Services are part of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team within Commercial Product. PLM is responsible for developing technology solutions that support every stage of the product lifecycle. This includes inducting products, maintaining product quality, managing taxonomy, and ensuring accurate product data integration across the entire Tesco ecosystem.
Product Lifecycle Services consist of the following components, each serving a specific function:
- Induct Core Service and its integration module retrieve and validate product and pack data from numerous sources before transmitting it to the Product Lifecycle (PLC) API. All dynamic logic related to different product types, workflows, and user permissions is managed prior to storage.
- Product Lifecycle (PLC) API serves as the single authoritative source for all product and pack data. Product information is forwarded to both the Product API and TUS API, which then distribute the data to downstream systems such as TAP, stores, and online platforms.
Stakeholders for these services include various teams across the organisation, ranging from Technology groups to non-Technology business units such as Legal and Commercial. The goal is to address the requirements of all verticals within the business.
As a Product Manager, you will have a critical role in refining and optimising these processes through platform-driven solutions, thereby supporting the delivery of products to millions of customers in timely and convenient ways.
