Minimum qualifications:

About the job:
Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
As a Network Operations Engineer, you will be part of a team of engineers that deploys and operates our private cloud services and underlying networks for critical customers in the UK. You will design and operate reliable and resilient networks, automate changes, implement monitoring, and manage core network components. Your work will span both traditional networking as well as software-defined networking in a Kubernetes environment. You will work alongside peers in Infrastructure Engineering, and will learn to troubleshoot common infrastructure problems. You will keep the internal and cloud-hosted services up and running, and be responsible for configuring and maintaining networking infrastructure from inception and design to validation, deployment, operation. You will participate in an on-call rotation to ensure incidents can be resolved.
Responsibilities:
- Engage and improve the whole life cycle of private/secure networks from inception and design, to qualification and validation, through deployment, operation.
- Assist Engineering and operations teams in building an ecosystem of integration, software automation to within private/secure networks.
- Work cross-functionally to design, develop, and validate product introductions of network and computing hardware, solutions, and technologies.
- Provide technical implementation and operational support in customer environments, including guidance on implementation feasibility of cross-product integrations.
