Manager, International Tax – Corporate Transaction Tax
We’ve got an exciting opportunity to join our Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions tax team, working within our International Transaction Tax Service (ITTS), who are recognised as being leaders in cross‑border M&A.
You will be working with some of the largest corporations in the world, advising them on their M&A deals and gaining experience across the spectrum of the M&A landscape.
We are currently looking to expand our Corporate M&A tax team and are keen to speak with experienced Tax Advisors and existing Managers.
Previous M&A experience is not a prerequisite for this role – we would consider candidates with a broad-based corporation tax background.
The opportunity
In this team, you will get wide‑ranging experience in all the core areas of the deal cycle, including tax structuring, sell‑side and buy‑side tax due diligence, funds flows, SPA reviews and refinancings.
As deal advisers, International Transaction Tax team members not only gain strong UK tax technical experience but also develop a commercial understanding of what is important to our clients in a deal context.
As a large part of ITTS work is cross‑border, you will also receive early exposure to international structuring techniques and overseas tax regimes.
- Your key responsibilities
- Management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding transaction tax projects for clients, ensuring technical excellence and a practical/business focus approach.
- Pursuit of business development opportunities.
- Provision of development support to junior members of the team through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring.
- Contribution to people initiatives, including retaining and training our team.
- Significant role in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing junior staff development and assignments.

- M&A tax experience or UK/international tax advisory experience.
- To qualify for the role you must have
- ACA / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification / or breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualification.
- Strong tax technical and project delivery skills.
- Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work.
- Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff.
- Knowledge of the tax elements of Mergers & Acquisitions helpful but not a pre-requisite for the role.
