ROLE OVERVIEW: As part of TxB’s global financial crime risk team, you will help drive our fraud & client expected behaviour monitoring strategy and program, with execution responsibility for monitoring tools, risk models, rules, and reporting. You’ll serve as the transaction monitoring subject matter expert when evaluating new monitoring requests, ensure ongoing optimization of our monitoring tool landscape and efficacy, provide insights into industry trends including AI usage and data enrichments, and participate in monitoring assessment reviews/audits. Located in EMEA, you will also support in regional 1 LoD risk topics. You will report to the EMEA Head of Risk & Client Activity Monitoring.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a transaction monitoring subject matter expert, with execution responsibility for transaction monitoring analytics, risk models, rules, and reporting.
- Contribute to our fraud risk model and our client expected behaviour monitoring strategy, with expertise in managing, building, and monitoring the effectiveness of tools and models across major payment categories and segments.
- Diagnose and resolve predictive and analytical transaction monitoring model performance issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to create and execute a strategic roadmap of transaction monitoring activities and capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in product, engineering, operations, legal, and compliance to ensure transaction monitoring requirements are embedded within new products, features, or operational processes.
- Maintain external knowledge of industry trends, tools and emerging threats/risks as it relates to fraud risk & client expected behaviour monitoring.
- Manage multiple tasks and use sound judgment when prioritising.
- Establish trusted partnerships with peers, functional leads, and executive level stakeholders.
- Update and maintain documentation for team processes and best practices.
- Exceptional analytical skills and able to apply knowledge and experience in decision-making to arrive at creative and commercial solutions.
- Must be independent and comfortable in a fast paced, ambiguous, and often multi-directional work environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in transaction monitoring strategy, product management, analytics or operations.
- Payment expertise in major transaction categories: ACH, wires, real time payments, deposits, lending, cards, etc.
- Strong program and project management skills; experience operating in an agile environment.
- Ability to lead cross-regional teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational, time management and planning skills.
- Energetic, self-directed, and self-motivated.
- Fluent in English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with use of NICE Actimize IFM or other transaction monitoring solutions.
- Familiarity with sanctions screening obligations and techniques.
- Strong analytics experience, and can articulate and visualise complex data/analyses to stakeholders.
- Exposure to machine learning / AI (for unusual behaviour detection).
- Prior Transaction Banking/Commercial Banking or Financial Crimes experience.
