The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement features to improve the performance of public Android releases.
  • Investigate and fix performance issues.
  • Design and implement the guidelines and best practices for other developers to avoid performance bugs.
  • Work with the executive engineers in the team to identify the new opportunities to build a premium Android experience.
  • Collaborate with other teams to build and improve the tools and frameworks to track, investigate and fix performance issues.
