Business Unit Overview
Securities Lending Operations provides operational support for the Securities Lending Business covering functions including Collateral Management (Account Management and Agency Lending), Inventory Management (Settlements), Trade Support, Billing and Strategic Projects. Traders execute Borrow and Loan transactions in all major markets, with increasing presence within emerging markets. Upon settlement, trades are collateralized (tri‑party & bi‑lateral) using a variety of products; Equities, Cash, Bonds, US Treasuries, Letter of Credit (LOC) by Operations. Securities Lending Operations globally is in London, Salt Lake City, Singapore, Bangalore and New York. The department’s key priorities are to mitigate risk, provide exceptional client service and drive strategic change.
Skill / Experience
- Key stakeholders and interactions will be with GS Trading and Sales Desks, Engineering and Operations Teams, Credit, Legal, Corporate Treasury Compliance and external counterparties.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders – GS Trading and Sales Desks, Engineering and Operations Teams, Credit, Legal, Corporate Treasury Compliance and external counterparties.
- Actively engage, partner and drive changes, provide excellent service and support.
- Demonstration of strong risk management practices.
- Keen to learn and understand the Trade Support & lifecycle management of securities.
- Ability to analyse, evaluate and form independent judgments.
- Ability to build relationships with people from other teams and levels of seniority.

Securities Lending Operations has the benefit of being located in the nucleus of an investment bank so the exposure and interaction that the successful candidate will gain will be vast.
